We Can Feel So Far From So Close

Like ships in the night
You keep passing me by
Just wasting time
Trying to prove who's right
And if it all goes crashing into the sea
If it's just you and me
Trying to find the light

Like ships in the night letting cannonballs fly
Say what you mean and it turns to a fight
Fists fly from my mouth as it turns south
You're down the driveway
I'm on the couch
Chasing your dreams since the violent fifth grade
Trying to believe in your silent own way
Cause we'll be okay, I'm not going away
Like you watching at fourteen as it went down the drain
Your pops stayed the same and your moms moved away
How many of our parents seem to make it anyway
We're just fumbling through the gray
Trying to find a heart that's not walking away

I'm at the airport waiting on the second plane
Had to pack you had cramps
And I was late heading to a red carpet
They wont know my name
Riding in silence
All that we wanna say
Bout to board when you call on the phone
You say I'm sorry I'll be waiting at home
Feels like we're burning this out on our own
Trying to find our way down a road we don't know

Turn the lights down low
Walk these halls alone
We can feel so far
From so close

Like ships in the night
You keep passing me by
Just wasting time
Trying to prove who's right
And if it all goes crashing into the sea
Its just you and me
Trying to find the light
Like ships in the night
Your passing me by
Your passing me by
Like ships in the night

I'm gonna find my way
Back to your side

And....But...So.

You're the type of guy who drifts into hearts unannounced
without knocking
without wiping your feet
leaving the door open when you go

And

my heart would beat yours in a race
when i'm next to you it races faster
stronger
steadier

But

I am the girl who leaves her door unlocked
who often says goodbye
but keeps holding on

So

We are the blind
the hopeless
the broken
the last

Happiness

I have been thinking a lot about happiness here lately. How it comes in bits and pieces for me. I guess I shouldn't ever expect it to last. Don't take that the wrong way..try and stay with me here... What I'm saying is there is never an actual time of happiness. Happiness comes in moments and most of us experience at least one moment of happiness a day. It can be found in big moments such as buying a new home, a wedding, bringing life into the world or a long overdue reunion with a loved one. Or it can be found in a small flicker of satisfaction such as buying a new pair of shoes, a "mommy I love you", the sound of a music box or a delicious meal.

Sometimes we think we have it so bad and we search for happiness while over looking all the little things that are exactly what happiness is made up of.  What we need to do although we are all grown-up, and the years have worn on us, is to live life through a child's eyes.  Children see truth and beauty. They laugh at everything, and find so much happiness in the simple things.  Growing up is inevitable, but we can still strive to be young in our soul.

Also something I have learned over the past year from my yoga instructor is when you look down, your head follows, your body slumps.  You can't see where you're going.  You're vision narrows because you're not focusing on what's around you, only the ground at your feet.   And maybe that ground is wrong.  Your thoughts start to follow in the same downward direction, and eventually, you find yourself feeling lost and unhappy. But when you look up, don't you see how your eyes sparkle?  Your body becomes open to receive, and suddenly, you notice all the beauty that surrounds you. There isn't just one path anymore; only infinite sky and your soul with wings. So look up more.  Up is hope.  Up is light.  Up is happiness.

Happiness is living in the moment. Next time you experience a moment of happiness may it be little or big, write it down. Don't take it for granted. Happiness is an untold treasure, relish it.

A man said to the Buddha, "I want Happiness."

Buddha said, first remove "I", that's ego,

then remove "want", that's desire.
See now you are left with only Happiness.

The Mermaids Tale

The Mermaids Tale

This story’s told from days long gone.
Of the beautiful mermaids and their song
Unlike the tales of vivid dreams
And treacherous luring with wicked schemes.
The lovely girls must find a way
To trick the boys so they’d stay away.
For they came here with one true intent
To steal their hearts without their consent.
This may sound like loves one true goal
In reality future hopes is what they stole.
The falsehood offered up love and a happy life
This was only a silkscreen to the future strife.
They only knew this from one who had escaped
She was able to return, the truth undraped.
Her story told for them all to know
No other maiden would err and go.
From that time then to this day now
When the boys sailed by the maids avow
To fool the boys so they would stay away,
So the maidens would not dare to stray.
They would sing their songs in lovely voice
The sailors slept, they had no choice.
The ship sailed on, the boys did snore.
They passed on by never seeing the shore.
There is a lesson here somewhere
You can figure it out if you really care.
Or perhaps this is just an old folktale
You decide, truth will always prevail. . .

Foolish Games

For a split second I forgot how amazing Jewel is......

FOOLISH GAMES

You took your coat off and stood in the rain,
You're always crazy like that.
And I watched from my window,
Always felt I was outside looking in on you.
You're always the mysterious one with
Dark eyes and careless hair,
You were fashionably sensitive
But too cool to care.

You stood in my doorway, with nothing to say
Besides some comment on the weather.

Well in case you failed to notice,
In case you failed to see,
This is my heart bleeding before you,
This is me down on my knees, and...

These foolish games are tearing me apart,
And your thoughtless words are breaking my heart.
You're breaking my heart.

You're always brilliant in the morning,
Smoking your cigarettes and talking over coffee.

Your philosophies on art, Baroque moved you.
You loved Mozart and you'd speak of your loved ones
As I clumsily strummed my guitar.

You'd teach me of honest things,
Things that were daring, things that were clean.
Things that knew what an honest dollar did mean.

I hid my soiled hands behind my back.
Somewhere along the line, I must've got
Off track with you.

Well, excuse me, guess I've mistaken you for somebody else,
Somebody who gave a damn,
Somebody more like myself.

These foolish games are tearing me apart,
And your thoughtless words are breaking my heart.
You're breaking my heart.

You took your coat off,
Stood in the rain,
You're always crazy like that.

If Only

What I want...no what I need is to be able to see the direct line between me and you
I have these thoughts and if only I could put them into words

If only.

If only I could put those words together just right it would result in an understanding that would make your synapses delight and fire off rapidly in all directions

All I care about is our bodies being in the same room at the same time
We're conscious, facing each other, aware.
I see you and you, me

I want to know what happens next

What we say what we do it's the only way to really be sure of someone
Watch your eyes, see the way they burn when you look at me
Analyze your body language
Read your thoughts
Be honest with each other

Do you want me to stay there... forever
If so just say so

That's all you have to do.

It's that simple and yet that hard.

Addicted

I'm addicted to tattoos
pain
love
and rain

I come but then I run
I seek to never find
leaving me only to what's left behind

Plenty of time to waste away
waste another day
I sit in silence
take a leave of absence

Someday I will understand
know my heart
awake my soul
be in control

Here and now; don't know who I am
or who I'll ever be
But I do know this

I'm addicted to tattoos
pain
love
and rain

In His Words

We guys don't care if you talk to other guys. We don't care if you're friends with other guys. But when you're sitting next to us, and some random guy walks into the room and you jump up and tackle him, without even introducing us, yeah, it pisses us off. It doesn't help if you sit there and talk to him for ten minutes without even acknowledging th
e fact that we're still there either.

We don't care if a guy calls or texts you, but at...2 in the morning we do get a little concerned. Nothing is that important at 2 a.m. that it can't wait till the morning.

Also, when we tell you you're pretty/beautiful/ gorgeous/cute/stunning, we freaking mean it. Don't tell us we're wrong. We'll stop trying to convince you. The sexiest thing about a girl is confidence. Yeah, you can quote me.

Don't be mad when we hold the door open. Take advantage of the mood im in and Let us pay for you! dont 'feel bad' We enjoy doing it. It's expected. Smile and say 'thank you.'

Kiss us when no one's watching. If you kiss us when you know somebody's looking, we'll be more impressed.

You don't have to get dressed up for us. If we're going out with you in the first place, you don't have to feel the need to wear the shortest skirt you have or put on every kind of makeup you own. We like you for who you are and not what you are. Honestly, i think a girl looks more beautiful when she's just in her pj's. or my tshirt and boxers, not all dolled up.

Don't take everything we say seriously. Sarcasm is a beautiful thing. See the beauty in it.

Don't get angry easily.

Stop using magazines/media as your bible. Don't talk about how hot Chris Brown, Idris Alba, or Trey Songs is in front of us. It's boring, and we don't care. You have girlfriends for that.

Whatever happened to the word 'handsome'/'beautiful' i'd be utterly stunned by a girl who greeted me with 'Hey handsome!' instead of 'Hey baby/ stud/cutie/sexy' or whatever else you can think of. On the other hand im not sayin i wouldn't like it ether ;)

Girls, I cannot stress this enough: if you aren't being treated right by a guy, dont wait for him to change!!!!! Ditch his sorry butt, disgrace to the male population and find someone who will treat you with utter respect. Someone who will honor your morals. Someone who will make you smile when you're at your lowest. Someone who will care for you even when you make mistakes. Someone who will love you, no matter how bad you make them feel. Someone who will stop what they're doing just to look you in the eyes and say 'i love you' and actually mean it. Give the nice guys a chance. ---

Well played guys well played.

It Conquers All

What is the one thing that all people have the capacity to feel???

LOVE.

Love is contentment and fulfillment but often pain and regret. Love is the sweet and the sour...an all consuming emotion that encompasses our soul. Love, rather we admit to it or not is the one pure emotion that we crave and even dream of and the sad part is sometimes we don't even realize when its there.

None of us want to get hurt so to let some one in, truly in, is often hard. So some choose to not love, not risk hurting their heart and letting someone inside and messing them up....but what they don't know is......It's the love that makes you vulnerable, it's the love that makes you hurt and it's the hurt that lets you know you are still alive.

Love cannot be turned on as a reward. It cannot be turned off as a punishment. We do not control love. It controls us.Love is bigger than us. We can invite love, but you cannot dictate how, when, and where love expresses itself. We can choose to surrender to love, or not, but in the end love strikes like an unpredictable bolt of lightning.

This song and movie just about sums it up.
